There are exactly SIX spells in wizardry: ===========================
FIRE (mana 15): Does 27-37 damage to opponent.
IGNITE (mana 11): Does 10 damage to opponent each turn for 3 turns. Does not stack. If your opponent is ignited, and you cast it on them again, the new spell replaces the old and stays for 3 turns including the current one.
HEAL (mana 11): Heals self for 28-38 hit points. Heals are always applied before any damage from opponent.
CONFUSE (mana 7): Confuses opponent. If they are casting Heal, they will heal you instead of themselves.
COUNTER (mana 8): Counters opponent's Fire and Ignite spells and retargets them back at your opponent.
MEDITATE (mana 0): Restores 11-16 mana.

Hi,
Only six spells? What about Lightning or Ice spells? And how does one perform the above spells in SL. I know the health-meter worn plays a part in knowing how much life/mana you have although I'm not exactly sure what all the readings mean.
For example if a mage were to cast fire on an opponent, are we just saying in rp such as "Mage blasts the creature with a fireball and burns him mightly"? or is there an actual fire shot at the opponent which causes damage. Sorry if this sounds dumb. I've played "monster" games and such but never any combat type games in SL.
Thanks

So far I have not attended any classes long enough to learn anything (I'm there at the start, but important RL always seems to come along).
I do have a few questions...
If BOTH cast a counter spell does that neutralize the other spell?
I am I correct in thinking (just like RL) the one who attacks first has the advantage?
Thanks, Legend

It's turn based, so it's not important who moves first. It doesn't matter how fast you are. You both do your move and then the two spells interact with eachother. If you both counter, nothing happens. You just lose mana.

Another question I have is if combat is the only thing a mage does in Aglarond? Frankly i'm not so interested in combat, being more of a lover than a fighter. How about casting other spells like a love spell or a conjuring spirits that can perform various things. What if I'm not interested in combat? What then?
I would just like to add (hope you don't mind my input) that i'd like to see mages doing other things too. Perhaps a mage creates a "field" so that his/her companions can cross the river safely (for example). I wonder if that is feasable?
Thanks
